#ACEATRUCKTALKS – Mastering the transition to zero-emission vehicles in commercial road transport

Europe’s truck industry has long been a global leader, with strong market shares across Europe, North America, and Latin America. This #TruckTalks webinar will dive into how manufacturers are navigating the accelerating shift to zero-emission vehicles amid mounting regulatory challenges and intensifying global competition.

Under the EU’s CO2 framework, truck makers must cut fleet emissions by 45% by 2030, 65% by 2035, and 90% by 2040. These targets stand in contrast to current market realities. Despite a growing range of ZEV models – including long-haul trucks with ranges above 500 km – uptake remains limited and uneven. In the first three quarters of 2025, ZEVs accounted for just 3.8% of new truck registrations, while around 35% will be needed by 2030.

This #ACEATruckTalks webinar will explore how Europe can bridge its competitiveness and cost gaps to remain a global leader in zero-emission road transport. Experts from industry, policy, and finance will discuss how to strengthen enabling conditions, accelerate infrastructure rollout, and ensure long-term industrial resilience.

Key questions are:

  • What urgent steps are needed to close the total cost of ownership (TCO) gap with global competitors?
  • How can ETS2 and CO2-based road tolls be implemented consistently to accelerate cost parity with diesel?`
  • What measures can help reduce financial risks and improve financing for zero-emission trucks?
  • How can Europe speed up charging infrastructure rollout and grid connections?
  • What policy actions are essential to restore investment confidence and strengthen Europe’s battery value chain?
